He’s suffering due to the loss of his best friend that was killed while on deployment. What Scott doesn’t know is that his sister has lent the cottage to Kitt, a man attempting to escape his abusive ex-boyfriend. The two decide that there is plenty of space in the home and absolutely no reason why they can’t cohabitate. While Kitt was skittish around such a powerful man at first, he realizes he is getting his courage back thanks to Scott’s kindness and protection. Scott, however, is becoming more and more confused about his sexuality. He’s felt things for men before, but he has always pushed those feelings to the back of his mind. Being near Kitt is making that impossible for him. With many obstacles to overcome, can these two men figure out how to be on even ground?This story was incredibly emotional. Kitt has been beaten on a regular basis and is incredibly skittish. Scott has lost his best friend and he feels like it’s all his fault. I thought the author did a great representation of showing PTSD from two different perspectives. Each character showed amazing growth and they were both very relatable.Trigger warning due to physical and mental abuse. 18+ steaminess, no cliffhanger and HEAI was given this book for free and I am voluntarily leaving this honest review
